Inside Heinrich Mattoni’s Company

How did things work at Heinrich Mattoni’s famous company when it first got started nearly 150 years ago? Which professions were closely linked to the mineral water bottling business in the mid-19th century? How did bottles get from point A to point B? Who was the founder of the famous brand and what was life like for people working at the company? Visitors can learn this and more at the new exhibition Inside Heinrich Mattoni’s Company.

As a follow up to last year’s exhibition of costumes from the TV series I, Mattoni, the exhibition looks at attire within the context of the period. Alongside the permanent exhibition at the Mattoni Museum are mannequins and objects that help to recreate the atmosphere at Mattoni and present the company’s history from a new angle.

Artist Veronika Kudláčková Psotková created the exhibition in conjunction with costume artist Andrea Králová, whose projects include the costume design for the Czech TV series I, Mattoni.

The exhibition runs from 15 April to 16 September.

Come and immerse yourself in the history of the famous Mattoni brand and its founder Heinrich Mattoni. The amazing journey of Mattoni dates back to 1873. The building, where the first Museum of Mineral Water Bottling was founded, was named after Dr. Josef Löschner and it is located in the town of Kyselka. Dr. Löschner collaborated with H. Mattoni on promoting health benefits of mineral waters. Löschner Pavilion served as a plant for bottling mineral water from a spring also called Löschner.

The museum's collection consists of a great range of historical documents such as photographs, trademark certificates, business correspondence, maps and projects of buildings that were constructed as well as some that were never built. The museum has also prepared interactive exhibits and modern technologies, animated projections and old-fashioned advertisements that will capture the interest of both children and adults.

The museum also displays a large collection of historical bottles which were used for the Kyselka mineral water. You can also take a look at a collection of paper labels that decorated the Mattoni bottles. Don’t forget to pause for a while and admire original statues from the former Kyselka spa.
